Gord began his policing career in Toronto in 1984. He has worked in the Foot Patrol, General Patrol, Youth Bureau, Major Crime Unit, the Criminal Investigations Bureau, and Police Training Section. Gord was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1996 and is now a Detective currently serving at 54 Division. Gord is a Provincially certified Major Case Manager, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Investigator.
He has a diploma in Teaching Effectiveness from Guelph/Humber University.
Although Gord is currently a front line investigator, he was recently an Instructor at the New Toronto Police College where he spent a year and a half developing and implementing e-learning programs for police officers across the country. For a further year and a half he was an instructor in the investigative section of the Toronto Police College.
Gord was elected to the OAPE Executive in October of 2008. Gord was appointed to the Presidents position in 2014.
