Terry Cox began his career back in 1988 with the Ontario Provincial Police. Since then Terry has taken on many rolls within his organization. Terry was a Force Diver then became an Emergency Response Team member. As Terry developed as a Police Officer he worked secondments with Organized Crime in the Illegal Gambling Unit then with an area Crime Unit as a Detective. In 1999, Terry started as an In- Service Trainer in West Region. He has the pleasure in being an instructor in Use of Force, Firearms, SAP, CEW – (TASER), Immediate Rapid Deployment and First Aid. Helping other Police Officers in “doing it right” is the reason Terry joined In-Service Training. After several years as a Road Sergeant, Terry was seconded to the Ontario Police College where he was able to get back to basics as a Trainer. During his time at OPC, Terry was in the Firearms Unit, Defensive Tactics and the Police Vehicle Operations Unit. After the conclusion of his secondment, Terry was then re deployed back to the road as a platoon supervisor at St. Thomas OPP detachment. A year later, Terry was able to go back to OPC and is now in the Officer Safety Unit.
