"Fostering Excellence in Police Training . . .for over 20 Years!"

This site was developed and is maintained by Educators, for Educators in the Policing Profession. We invite you to explore and participate within the various links.

This years conference " Evolution of Training ... Lessons learned " celebrated OAPE's 20th Anniversary which was bigger and better than ever. We would like to thank all our delegates who attended and especially our guest lecturers.

From our keynote speaker - Lt. Col Dave Grossman - US Army (Ret.) who gave an excellent incite on urban terrorism and things to come to Mr. Jeffery Manishen explaining the latest on case law and how it applies to our Policing Community.  An interesting discussion with Dr. Christine Hall from Victoria B.C. and Staff Sergeant Chris Butler from Calgary P.S. who explained Excited Delirium and had an informative discussion regarding Tasers. Mr. John Buckley - Northern Ireland Police (Ret.) - Intelligence / Counterterrorism was very interesting when speaking to our delegates about getting the most out of a training environment. Our panel on "Real Life Experiences" was truly awe inspiring. The stories told and how their training was at the core of how they responded and survived, speaks volumes to trainers.

Finally a big thanks once again go out to OPC Director Rudy Gheysen, Registrar Nicole Adams and all the staff and faculty for their assistance, professionalism and hospitality. We couldn't of done it without you!

Stay tuned for more updates on Conference 2010 !!
