The 2008 Annual OAPE Conference was a resounding success. Once again we were proud that the conference was held at the Ontario Police College in late August. The theme of last year's conference was "Be Informed . . .Be safe". Our keynote speaker in 2008 was Dick O'Brien from "The Resilient Journey". Our Use of Force Panel with Mr. Jeffery Manishen, Mr. Joe Wolfe, Mr. Jeff Rutherford and Sgt. Bob Gauvin was very popular and informative. Cindy Goss gave a very informative presentation on Critical Incident Stress. Sgt. Bryon MacKillop of the O.P.P. offered a great presentation that included tips for highway interdiction. On-Star provided a very informative and interactive presentation on how it enhances Suspect Apprhension Pursuit operations. Phil DeBruyne from O.P.C. offered some excellent information and insight to all of us about "Continuing Education". Finally, a big thanks once again goes out to Director Rudy Gheysen, Registrar Nicole Adams and all the staff and faculty at O.P.C. for their assistance, professionalism and hospitality.

2009 is the 20th anniversary of OAPE which promises to be the best conference ever. This years conference will once again be held at OPC on August 31 - September 03, 2009. This years theme is "Evolution of Training ... Lessons Learned". Guest speakers include Lt. Colonel David Grossman (Ret.), Mr. Jeffery Manishen LLP, Dr. Christine Hall and Staff Sergeant Chris Butler from Calgary Police.

Final syllabus will be completed shortly and will be added to this site.

OAPE held its annual REID Interviewing and Interrogation course June 09 - 12, 2009 at the Canadian Centre of Inland Waters, located in Burlington Ontario. This years course was very successful, participants from as far away as Calgary and PEI were in attendance.
